My Story
Reverend Dr Andrew Adebayo Orire (Bayo Orire), the author of this book, YOU CAN! Become What You Want to Become is a medical practitioner, journalist and clergyman who is also a political figure from Ekiti State of Nigeria.
He is the founder and General Overseer of God’s Tenet Church, a Christian faith-based organisation. He attended Notre Dam College, Usi-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where he passed his GCE, O-Levels and WASC with Grade 1 Distinctions. He holds an MBBS from the premier University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.
He is the Chairman/CEO, Orire Hospital Complex, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. As a prolific writer and member of the fourth estate of the realm, he holds a PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja. He has received over 50 honours and awards from communities and professional organisations for his meritorious service to humanity at large.;
Rev. Dr Bayo Orire is a member of many professional organisations, including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Association of General & Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Ekiti State Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture; Fellow, Institute of Sales Management of Nigeria(FNISM). He is also an honorary chieftaincy title holder of Otunba of Ijan-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
He is a native of Ikoro-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State, South-Western Nigeria.
He is the Chairman of the Ekiti State Health Management Board (EKHMB) during the two tenures of Dr John Kayode Fayemi as Governor of Ekiti State. As a progressive politician, he has twice been a major contender for his state’s highest office, the Governor. A social mixer to the core, Dr Bayo Orire is also the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Ekiti State Elders Council, an arm of Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE). He is a foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum and a patron of several social organisations.
As a leader, he always proved to be resourceful, humane, and is seen as a man of vision and dynamism. As a benevolent man, he believes that the State should channel resources into health, education, agriculture, values orientation and infrastructural development. He is a down-to-earth and indefatigable supporter of the masses; He is the Chairman, Lucky Ayo Refuge Foundation (LARF), a Non-Governmental Organisation that provides succour and oasis to the have-nots of the society. His maxim: Greatness is measured by your good mind, vision and service to others.
